Workflow Guide

Zero-Revenue Import

Keep your Shopify analytics clean. Import Etsy orders as $0 so your Shopify revenue reports only reflect your Shopify-native sales.

The Multi-Channel Revenue Problem

Why syncing Etsy orders to Shopify can distort your numbers

Double-Counted Revenue

When Etsy orders are imported into Shopify with their real prices, Shopify counts them as revenue — even though you were already paid on Etsy. Your Shopify reports show inflated numbers, ad ROAS looks wrong, and some apps may even prompt you to "refund the customer."

✗ Without Zero-Revenue Import

  • Etsy revenue counted twice (Etsy + Shopify)
  • Shopify analytics show inflated totals
  • Ad ROAS calculations are skewed
  • Finance apps flag phantom revenue
  • Refund prompts for already-paid orders

✓ With Zero-Revenue Import

  • Shopify only shows Shopify revenue
  • Etsy revenue stays in Etsy reports
  • Clean analytics, accurate ROAS
  • No phantom transactions in finance apps
  • Orders still fully manageable in Shopify

How It Works

Fulfillment workflow stays the same — just without the revenue noise

The Import Flow

Prices Zeroed
All items, shipping & tax set to $0
Shopify Order Created
Marked paid, ready to fulfill
📦

All line item prices set to $0.00

Every product in the order is imported at zero price, regardless of what the customer paid on Etsy.

🚚

Shipping zeroed out

Shipping charges are also cleared so no shipping revenue appears in Shopify reporting.

📈

Tax lines removed

Tax is cleared from the order. Etsy handles tax collection and remittance for Etsy orders.

Order marked as paid automatically

Shopify auto-marks $0 orders as paid — no manual payment required, no transaction errors.

Note: The order still appears in Shopify with all product details, the customer's name, and shipping address. You fulfill it exactly the same way. Only the financial amounts are zeroed.

Setting It Up

Enable in your OrderBridge Settings in under a minute

Open Settings

In your OrderBridge dashboard, click Settings in the left sidebar.

Find "Shopify Revenue Reporting"

Scroll down to the Shopify Revenue Reporting section and expand it. The toggle is off by default.

Enable Zero-Revenue Import

Toggle on "Import Etsy orders as $0 in Shopify" and click Save. The change takes effect immediately for all new orders synced after this point.

Fulfill Orders as Normal

New Etsy orders will now appear in Shopify at $0. Ship them through Shopify just as you always have — nothing else changes.

Heads Up: This setting only affects orders synced after it's enabled. Existing orders in Shopify already have their original prices and won't be changed retroactively.

Who This Is For

Zero-Revenue Import is opt-in and works for specific use cases

✓ Great Fit

  • Multi-channel sellers (Etsy + Shopify)
  • Tracking Shopify-specific ad ROAS
  • Using Shopify for fulfillment only
  • Using finance apps that read Shopify revenue
  • Shops where Etsy is a separate business unit

✗ Not Needed If...

  • Etsy is your only sales channel
  • You want consolidated revenue in Shopify
  • Your finance tools pull from Etsy directly
  • You need order totals for tax reporting in Shopify

Tip: You can toggle this setting on or off at any time. There's no impact to fulfillment or Etsy — only your Shopify financial reporting is affected.

Clean Up Your Revenue Reports

Zero-Revenue Import is included in all OrderBridge plans. Enable it in your Settings and keep your Shopify analytics Etsy-free.
